Our Mission

There are a number of projects and initiatives working towards conservation and maintenance of biodiversity across Nova Scotia, however, there is no over-arching framework or network which summarizes these initiatives. As a result, there may be duplication or geographic overlap of efforts and gaps in where these initiatives can be further applied.

Cape Breton Privateland Partnership has partnered with Unama’ki Institute of Natural Resources to develop Nova Scotia Biodiversity Connection. We are a collaborative network of forestry and environmental organizations dedicated to fostering the protection and enhancement of biodiversity across the province. Through the development of a comprehensive summary of ecological initiatives, we strive to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative protocols, while partnering with like-minded organizations to amplify our collective impact. Our commitment to public education and awareness empowers communities to understand and engage in the vital work of safeguarding Nova Scotia's diverse ecosystems for future generations.
